The Art of Meditation
Meditation is exercise for the mind, nourishment for the soul, and a healing agent to the body. It fosters a lifestyle that brings harmony to the mind, body, and spirit. Meditation is the secret weapon needed in any self-care arsenal to combat stress, anxiety, depression, fear, and other challenges of life. It is the way, the truth, and the life leading us back to the divinity present within each and every one of us. After all, we are all spirit having a human experience. We are in the world, but not of it. We are light (Matthews 5:14-16)! Read more to learn some of the amazing health benefits of practicing meditation.

Exercise For the Mind
When practiced regularly, we can experience the transforming power of meditation on our mind. Meditation promotes focus, attention, and concentration; especially since certain techniques of meditation forces us to detach from our thoughts, observe them, and actively combat and replace them with truth. It also requires us to focus on breath work which promotes clarity and enlightenment. The reason being, oxygen can easily flow to the brain when we are in a relaxed state. It is through meditation that we learn to control our minds and use it for our benefit as opposed to our detriment. A disciplined mind is the pathway to a life of love, abundance, peace, and fulfilled desires. Train your mind to think the way you want it to with meditation. Remember where attention goes, energy flows (Philippians 4:8).
Nourishment For the Soul
Meditation is nourishment for the soul because it leads us back to the divine spirit within us for the answers and peace that we seek (Matthews 6:33). We are spirit having a human experience. Everything that we need is already within us if we can be still and allow the divine to show us the way. We are an expression of love and abundance, and that's all the divine, source, higher power, God (whatever you know it to be), has to offer. The answer is always yes and life is always serving us for our highest good (Romans 8:28). Through meditation we can bring our heart and mind into alignment with this truth by creating powerful affirmations, incantations, and mantras to recite as well. Everything including creation began as a thought followed by words affirming the belief in that thought. This is how we shape and create our reality. Our thoughts and words can have a powerful impact on our lives ( Proverbs 18:21).
Healing Agent to the Body
There are so many health benefits that meditation can provide to our bodies. A good meditation regimen can produce results such as weight loss, healthier eating habits, decreased chronic pain, emotional health, and so much more. This is because meditation focuses on breath work which allows us to permeate our entire being with oxygen. Oxygen is needed to keep our bodies healthy, reduce stress, and to strengthen our immune system. Depression, anxiety, mental health issues, and fear; just to name a few, are all linked to emotional health. Meditation helps us to gain control of our emotional health by first gaining control of our thoughts (internal conversation) and words (external). Emotions are energy in motion and they control our entire life just as much as our beliefs. Our emotions bring to our awareness that something is going on in our thought processes that is producing the emotional baggage we carry around (Proverbs 23:7). Emotional baggage produces (dis)eases in our body. Meditation is the way (Psalms 119:15)!
